About this tour

The Dendara Temple complex, and the Temple of Hathor, is one of the best-preserved temples, if not the best-preserved one, in all Upper Egypt. It dates to the Ptolemaic Period, although evidence points to older structures once existing on the site, dating as far back as king Peppy I, from the Old Kingdom. Among the temple’s most notable features are astronomical engravings on its ceiling that id one of a its kind.
