About this tour
Karnak and Luxor Temple stand on the East Bank of the Nile and are two of the largest temple complexes ever built. This day gives each of them proper time, about two hours apiece, with a professional Egyptologist who explains what you are looking at and why it matters.
In between, we take you to the local market to shop for spices and souvenirs. After dark you return to Karnak for the sound and light show: a narrated walk through the temple grounds that ends with you seated beside the Sacred Lake.
We pick you up from your hotel or Nile cruise in an air-conditioned vehicle, and all tickets, including the show, are already paid.
Why take a Luxor East Bank day tour
This day suits travelers who prefer depth to speed. Instead of rushing through, you spend about two hours at Karnak and about two hours at Luxor Temple, two of the largest temple complexes ever built, with a professional Egyptologist who explains what you are looking at.
Between the temples there is time at the local market for spices and souvenirs. After dark you return to Karnak for the sound and light show, which ends beside the Sacred Lake. Both temples belong to the site described in UNESCO’s Ancient Thebes listing.
Wear comfortable shoes, since Karnak covers a large area. A hat and water help in the daytime, and a light layer is pleasant for the evening show. Bring some small notes for the market and for tips.
