Privacy Policy

Amwaj Tour ("we", "us") is a tour company based in Luxor, Egypt. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use amwajtour.com, why we use it, how long we keep it and the rights you have. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for visitors in Europe and Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (No. 151 of 2020).

What we collect and why

Booking requests

When you request a tour or transfer we collect your name, email, WhatsApp or phone number, travel date, number of travelers, chosen extras and any notes you add. We use them to check availability, confirm your trip, arrange your guide, driver and pickup, and send you reminders. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a contract, and performing the contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).

Contact messages

When you write to us through the contact form we collect the type of request, your name, email, WhatsApp number, how you prefer us to reply, and your message (plus tour, booking reference, dates or route if you give them). We use them only to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).

WhatsApp, email and phone

If you contact us on WhatsApp, the conversation is handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy. Emails and calls are used only to deal with your request.

Cookies and technical data

Our web server records technical data such as your IP address and browser for security and to keep the site running. We use only a few cookies, described in our Cookie Policy. Statistics or marketing cookies are used only if you allow them.

Google Analytics

If you allow "Analytics" in the cookie settings, we use Google Analytics 4 from Google Ireland Limited to measure, in anonymous form, how our website is used: which pages are viewed, the country and type of device, and whether a booking request or message was sent. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses, we have switched off data sharing with Google, and we do not use this data for advertising. Google may process the data outside the EU, including in the United States. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the cookie settings.

Maps

Our route and destination maps load map images from OpenFreeMap, so your browser connects to their servers and they see your IP address. Links to Google Maps open Google's site only when you click them.

Who we share it with

• The guides, drivers, boats and partners who deliver your trip, only what they need (for example your name, pickup place and time).
• Our website hosting and email providers, who store the data on our behalf.
• Authorities, if the law requires it.

We never sell your data. Because we operate in Egypt, your data is processed in Egypt; for travelers in Europe this transfer is necessary to arrange the trip you asked for (GDPR Art. 49(1)(b)).

How long we keep it

• Contact messages: deleted automatically after 24 months.
• Booking records: kept as long as needed for accounting and legal obligations (normally up to 5 years), after which they are deleted or anonymized.
• Your cookie choice: 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or give it to you in a portable format. You can object to our use based on legitimate interests and withdraw any consent at any time (for cookies, use Cookie settings). Write to booking@amwajtour.com or use our contact page; we reply within one month. If you are in the EU you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, forms are protected against spam and misuse, and only our team can see booking requests and messages.

Children

Bookings must be made by an adult. We only hold children's details (such as their age group) as part of a family booking.

Changes

We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
